Update #3

Punxtr decoded the message for us in the comments: "you will not escape. the cycle will not be broken." I don't like the sound of that.

Since we have figured out that these can be translated, there are a few more that look like the same encoding.

Sent August 17th, 2011: cmV0dXJuIHRvIHRoZSBhZ2VudCBub3cgb3IgbWVldCB0aGVpciBmYXRl

Sent August 20th, 2011: ZG8geW91IGxpa2UgdGhlIHRhc3RlIG9mIGNvbnRyb2w/IGl0IGlzIGZsZWV0aW5nLg==

Then there is this one, sent August 22nd, 2011: 1862 2052 1843 1881 2033 608 931 969 608 1995 2185 608 2090 2109 2204 2052 1919 1843 2185 1919 1900 874

I have a feeling that making sense of these messages is going to be crucial at some point. I haven't told Jack about them, though. I don't want to trouble him if I don't have to.

  1. August 17:
"Return to the agent now or meet their fate"

    August 20:
"Do you like the taste of control? it is fleeting."

The first two were in base64, I don't know what the 22nd's message is. Good luck.

  2. Was there anything else associated with the third message at all? Some codes require a key to break.

  3. The third one reminds me of a "telephone" code. As though you were trying to type using the numpad on a phone.

  6. All of the numbers in the third code can be divided by 19. Figuring that out was not comforting. From there it can be converted from unicode to actual readable text:

    black 13 is notleased.

I should say MOSTLY readable. Something's not right.

  7. The creature, or whoever sent them, must have known that you would have read these at this time.
"Return to the agent now or meet their fate"
Is definitely referring to the others disemboweling.
This means that the person who sent the text message knows you're not with the creature.
